Dr. Richard B. Gunderman ’83 has two books with release in 2017:

Hoosier Beacons is a compilation from a series of articles he wrote for the Indiana Business Journals’ “Hoosier Beacons” column during Indiana’s bicentennial celebration.  The collection of biographies highlights well known people in U.S. history who have Hoosier roots in Indiana.


We Come to Life with Those We Serve: Fulfillment through Philanthropy, to be released in October, suggests that “the most meaningful and rewarding path in life . . . is service at its best bringing us to life.”



Dr. Gunderman is Chancellor’s Professor of Radiology, Pediatrics, Medical Education, Philosophy, Liberal Arts, Philanthropy, and Medical Humanities and Health Studies at Indiana University.  After Wabash, he received his MD and PhD (Committee on Social Thought) with honors from the University of Chicago, and MPH from Indiana University.  He has published over 600 scholarly articles and 10 books.
