Clark ’70 elected VP of law foundation

Phil ClarkPhillip R. Clark ‘70, a partner in the Denver law firm of Bryan Cave LLP, has been elected Vice President of the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation by its Trustees for 2014-2015.  Phil is a partner in the Denver office and practices with the Energy and Natural Resources Client Service Group.

After Wabash, Phil earned his JD from Harvard Law School.  He is recognized in the Best Lawyers in America and Colorado Super Lawyers publications.

German ’70 joins Wabash coaching staff

charley germanCharley German ’70 retired this year after coaching football for 25 years at North Montgomery High School.  Retirement is short lived, however, as Charley joins the Little Giants as tight end coach.

After Wabash, Charley earned a masters of arts in education and a teaching certificate from Indiana State University, then taught and coached at middle and high school levels for a total of 41 years.  His son is Jake German ’10.

Welch ’99 named Associate Dean at Wabash

marc welchMarc Welch ’99 has been named Associate Dean of Students, to coordinate residence life, policies, and living conditions in residence halls, fraternities, and Wabash College-owned student housing.

Marc has served Wabash in several offices on campus, including Senior Assistant Director of Admissions and Liaison to Athletics, and Associate Director of Secondary Licensure in Education Studies.  He has taught Modern Languages at Wabash and has been an adjunct Ivy Tech faculty member teaching Spanish.

After majoring in Spanish and psychology at Wabash, Marc earned his M.A.T. in Spanish at Indiana University.

Robertson ’77 to speak at Brown Bag Lunch

andrewrobertsonAndrew Robertson ’77 will discuss the history of the town of Forest, Indiana as part of the Frankfort Community Public Library’s Brown Bag Lunch series at noon on Wednesday, August 6, open to the public.

Andy studied history at Wabash College before becoming a teacher at Clinton Central Jr./Sr. High School for 34 years.  He is now the Director of Student Teaching and Field Experience License Advisor at the Indiana University-Kokomo campus.

Sun King Brewery hosts 2nd festival

Indianapolis’ Sun King Brewery, owned by Omar Robinson ‘60 and Clay Robinson ’97, will host the second CANvitational canned craft brew festival on September 20.  Proceeds will benefit the Arts Council of Indianapolis.

Kiser ’79 named VP at Lafayette College

Michael-Kiser--Lafayette collegeMichael D. Kiser ’79 has been named vice president for marketing and communications at Lafayette College in Easton, PA, effective September 1.  Michael has been vice president for communications at Colby College since 2011.

Blastic ’82 – where is he now?

Rich Blastic ’82 was recently featured in the “Where Are They Now?” online column.

Rich, who lettered four years each in Wabash Football and Baseball, is plant manager at plastics manufacturer Huhtamaki, Inc. in Hammond, Indiana.  Click here to catch up with Rich and see him proudly display a framed schedule of “The Streak” – Wabash’s 24 consecutive winning football games from September 1979 through October 1981!

Ebert ’72 named to power attorney list

kim ebertKim F. Ebert ’72 was recently named to Human Resource Executive magazine’s 2014 list of the “Nation’s Most Powerful Employment Attorneys.” This is the second consecutive year that Kim has been selected for inclusion on the Most Powerful list.

Kim is the managing shareholder of law firm Ogletree Deakins, Indianapolis, one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management.

After Wabash, Kim earned his JD at Indiana University School of Law.   Congratulations, Kim!

Brown ’97 one of FastCase50

Evan Brown infolawgroup photoEvan Brown ’97 was named one of fastcase50’s top 50 lawyers for 2014, highlighting entrepreneurs, innovators, and trailblazers in legal services (he’s top row, first on right on the fastcase50 web site).

Evan is Senior Counsel at InfoLawGroup in Chicago where he focuses on social media and technology services; has a blog at internetcases; and is co-host of the netcast This Week in Law.   After Wabash, he earned his JD from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law.
