Robbins ’79 named chair of Lilly Endowment Board

Clay Robbins ’79 has been named chairman of the Board of Directors of Lilly Endowment Inc.  Clay is currently president and CEO of the Endowment, an Indianapolis-based private foundation that is committed to the causes of community development, education and religion. He will continue as president and CEO as he assumes the chairmanship. Click here to read the news release.

After Wabash, Clay earned his JD from Vanderbilt University Law School, and received an honorary degree from Rose-Hulman Institute.  He has served in various staff positions since he joined the Endowment in 1993.

Magnussen ’04 joins J-W-M Neurology

marcus magnusson 2015Dr. Marcus Magnussen D.O. ’04 has joined Josephson-Wallack-Munshower Neurology PC group in the Indianapolis area.  His special areas of interest include neuromuscular disease, EMG, EEG, Epilepsy and Concussion.

After Wabash, Marc received his Master of Science Degree in Biology from Indiana University-Purdue University, Indianapolis and his Medical Degree from Des Moines University in Des Moines, IA in 2010. He completed his Neurology Residency in 2014 and his Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship in 2015, both at Emory University in Atlanta, GA.

Sabetti ’84 head XX coach at Kent Co. H.S.

Henry Sabetti ’84 is the first-year head coach of the cross country program at Kent County High School in Worton, Maryland.  He was previously a volunteer assistant coach at Kent before assuming the head coach position this year. Rev. Sabetti is also the rector at Shrewsbury Parish Church, Kennedyville, MD. Click here for the news story.

After Wabash, Henry was a social worker, and was ordained an Episcopalian priest after graduating from Virginia Theological Seminary.  He was assistant cross country coach at DePauw University for three years while he worked there as a counselor, and runs competitively himself.

Stephenson ’62 named to Chicago Who’s Who

richard stephenson-richardRichard J Stephenson ’62 was named to the “Who’s Who in Chicago Business,” reported by Crain’s Chicago Business last week.

Dick is the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA).  CTCA has hospitals in the greater Atlanta, Philadelphia, Chicago, Tulsa and Phoenix areas.  He has been Chairman of the Board since the company’s inception in 1988.  He is also a merchant banker and serves as chairman, president and a board member of many proprietary and philanthropic enterprises.

After Wabash, Dick earned a JD at Northwestern University.

Reamey ’77 to be inducted into Owasso H.S. Sports Hall of Fame


GAry reamey todayGary Reamey ’77 will be inducted into the Owasso Sports Hall of Fame on September 26 in Owasso, Oklahoma.  He was a three-sport athlete during all three years in high school.  Click here to read the news story.

After Wabash, Gary earned an MBA from the University of Chicago and Wharton Securities Institute & Institute of Corporate Directors.  He was a financial advisor with Edward Jones for 35 years, opening the first Edward Jones office in Canada.  Gary retired from EJ in 2012 and is now partner with SNG Music LLP.  Gary is a member of the Wabash College Board of Trustees.

Liu ’12 helps guide Indy Welcoming Week

Paul Liu ’12 was one of the guest speakers on the WFYI radio’s No Limits talk show this week.  The guests discussed the third annual “Indianapolis Welcoming Week,” which is part of the “National Welcoming Week” project.  The mission is to help people in Indianapolis get to know someone from a different culture.  Click here to listen to the panel discussion.

Paul works at Cummins, Inc. in corporate communications.  He is a member of the steering committee for the Immigrant Welcome Center in Indianapolis, whose mission is to develop, lead and drive initiatives that transform Indianapolis to a welcoming community for visitors and immigrants.  Paul is also active in several other Indianapolis community organizations.

Wren ’14 joins Montgomery County Health Department

Early last month, Luke Wren ’14 was named the new Accreditation Coordinator for the Montgomery County Health Department, located in Crawfordsville.  His first of many phases of accreditation projects is to lead a survey to aid the Montgomery County Health Department and Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health – Crawfordsville in evaluating what is needed in the county by asking the citizens to provide feedback via the survey.  Click here for the news release.

After Wabash, Luke completed an MS in Global Health, a health degree which focuses on areas that are resource poor, at the University of Notre Dame.  Luke has previous experience to draw on for the accreditation project:  As a student intern while at Wabash, he worked for the epidemiologist in charge on a previous community health needs assessment conducted for the local hospital in Crawfordsville.
