Nolan Eller ’11, Wabash College archivist, was recently appointed by Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb to the State Historical Records Advisory Board (SHRAB).
The board was created in 2006 by former Governor Mitch Daniels. Charged with being the central advisory body for historical records planning and preservation in Indiana, the SHRAB works with the Archives and Records Administration and repositories throughout the state to accomplish its task.
Eller’s term on the board runs through 2025.
Eller joined Wabash staff last year as the digital archives librarian, a position funded by the Lilly Endowment “Restoring Hope, Restoring Trust” grant. He recently was appointed as the College’s archivist after Beth Swift retired from the position.
From 2014 to 2016, Eller served as the assistant archivist at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. Before coming to Wabash, he served as the university archivist and head of special collections at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana, from 2017 to August of 2021.
Eller graduated from Wabash College in 2011 and obtained his MLS degree with a concentration in archives and records management from Indiana University’s School of Library and Information Science in 2013. While at Wabash, Eller majored in history and was an independent.
