Sean Hayes ’04 recently completed his M.S. in Appropriate Technology from Appalachian State University.  And, he was recently hired as Facilities Manager & Community Outreach Coordinator at Oberlin College’s A. J. Lewis Center for Environmental Studies. The AJLC was recently named the most important green building of the past 30 years by Architect magazine.

As a grad student at Appalachian State, Sean was chair of the student-run Renewable Energy Initiative (REI), a self-imposed $5/semester student fee which helps finance many renewable energy projects on the campus.

At Oberlin, Sean is in charge of management and upgrading of the Lewis Center for Environmental Studies, a unique ecologically designed and engineered facility, as well as other academic support and community outreach/communications.  The AJLC also supports the monitoring of real-time usage of water and electrical resources in the campus buildings, through the online Building Dashboard.

Sounds like a perfect match for Sean!
