The art of Curt Schmitt ’81 is fine hand-crafted wood furniture.  He will show his work at the The New Harmony [Indiana] Gallery of Contemporary Art exhibit, “Natural Elements,” June 25-August 14.

Curt uses wood’s natural color and grain in his furniture creations. After graduating from Wabash College and Yale University, he taught philosophy, religion, literature, and art in Memphis, TN for 23 years.  A hobby while teaching became a profession in retirement, and today he designs and builds custom made furniture and cabinetry in a woodshop next to his home in New Harmony.  Click here for his web site, Curt Schmitt Cabinetry and Fine Furniture
