Tuesday, August 12, 2008 – Moving Day at the brand, spanking new TKE house. My good friend and classmate Jon Pactor ’71 gave me the tour – it is super nice. The house is built to encourage fraternal living, from the formal spaces to the living areas, and to provide a number of different options for studying.
Here are some photos of the new house – dedication is set for September 20th. Hope to see you there.

Just finished reading your latest Grunge Report. Thank you for the pictures of the new Teke House. I enjoyed them very much.
As for your rankings column – the list of schools where intercollegiate sports are deemed unpopular or nonexistent is also suspect for its inclusion of Harvey Mudd. My son and daughter went to Claremont McKenna, which fields combined athletic teams with Harvey Mudd. The schools are across a sidewalk from each other.
While CMC undergraduates generally made up the majority of the members of the schools’ athletic teams, the Mudders that did participate tended to be extremely good and were frequently among the stars of the team. At least that was true of swimming and water polo – the two sports that my kids played. Indeed a Mudder racked up 57 and 60 individual points (as well as setting 4 Div 3 records) at the NCAA Div III Swimming Finals in 1997 and 1998 (that means he had 2 firsts and a second one year and 3 firsts the other year) – I remember this because the person involved was the best man at my son’s wedding.
Best regards,
Ken
