The bank announced the move during its Annual Meeting of Members on Wednesday, May 21.
“With a steadfast commitment to community banking and nearly two decades of experience at Security Federal, Price brings a deep understanding of the bank’s mission and a bold vision for its future,” the bank stated in a press release.
Price joined Security Federal in 2008, beginning his career in the trust department. He worked through the ranks, eventually serving as Chief Operating Officer prior to this appointment.
“Throughout his tenure, he has been instrumental in shaping the bank’s growth, operational improvements, and customer-focused culture,” the press release said.
A Logansport resident, Price serves as a trustee on the Logansport Memorial Hospital Board, vice president of the Logansport Redevelopment Commission, treasurer of the Cass County Humane Society and president of the Logansport Alumni Association.
His past service includes board roles with the Logansport-Cass County Chamber of Commerce, the Cass County Family YMCA, the Kiwanis Club of Logansport and the Girl Scouts of Northern Indiana-Michiana.
In the banking sector, Price serves on the Mutual Bank Council for the Independent Community Bankers of America. He has made contributions through service on the Indiana Bankers Association Future Leadership Division Advisory Board, the Indiana Bankers Association Board, and as a member of the founding class of the American Bankers Association Emerging Leaders Advisory Board from 2018 to 2020.
Price is a graduate of Wabash College, where he studied economics with specialization in business. He was a member of Phi Kappa Psi and the swim team.
He went on to the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin and the IBA Leadership Development Program. He is married to wife Amy and has a daughter, Kinzie.
Price takes over for Annette Russell, who is retiring. Russell served as the bank’s president and CEO for 21 years. The bank and Russell were both recognized by the Indiana Bankers Association with the Leaders in Banking Excellence award in August 2024.
