Adam Vela ’95 was recently promoted to Vice President – General Counsel of Coterra Energy Inc., an energy company engaged in hydrocarbon exploration organized in Delaware and based in Houston, Texas.
Vela has a 17-year career with Coterra Energy, and has previously served as assistant general counsel, primarily responsible for litigation and advising business units on legal matters related to operations, leasing, royalties, safety and other matters.
His new role goes into effect October 1, 2022.
Vela is a graduate of Wabash College and received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver. While at Wabash, he majored in German and minored in psychology. He was a member of the Sphinx Club, Sigma Chi fraternity and played on the football team.
