Robert ’78 and Melody Grand were recently presented with the IUPUI Spirit of Philanthropy Award.
The Grands were recognized for having loyally supported the IU Robert H. McKinney School of Law and demonstrating the value of giving back to one’s alma mater.
Bob is a member of the law school’s Board of Visitors, according to a news release. The couple’s recent gifts have focused on an endowed chair and a memorial scholarship, created to recognize the excellence of the faculty and to help students who face financial challenges.
Bob graduated from Wabash College in 1978, where he majored in economics and was a member of Beta Theta Pi. He graduated from Indiana University Bloomington in 1978 with a degree in biological sciences and from IU McKinney Law in 1982.
Bob is the firm managing partner of Barnes & Thornburg and concentrates his practice in the areas of public finance and governmental regulation.
