John Kerezy’77 met with Wabash alumni and spouses in Cleveland this week to talk about his recently published book, “Glory Reborn: Wabash College and Its Athletic Teams, 1977-1982.”

John wrote the book while on sabbatical from teaching at Cuyahoga Community College.  He read from the book, which also chronicles life, main events at the college, and important world events of the era, in addition to the DIII national runner-up football team, the national championship basketball team, and the 10-0 football team in Wabash’s sesquicentennial year, 1982. Fellow Wallies helped John with the book process:  Duane Hile ’67 did a lot of proofing, Terry Evitts ’79 proofed a few chapters, and Scott Biederman ’82 helped with interviewing Pete Metzelaars ’82.  John paid tribute to the late William Starr ’37, another NE Ohio alumnus, who collaborated with John on a story about the writing of “Old Wabash” for Wabash Magazine in 2000 – the article was the beginning of the inspiration for the “Glory Reborn” book.  Bob Kissling ’73 arranged the book gathering.
