Indianapolis hosted the “NFL Combine” last week, which prompted a Crawfordsville grade school to put on its own Second Annual Nicholson Combine.  Rex Ryker ’97 is the Principal at Meredith Nicholson Elementary School.  He invited members of the Wabash football team to join his students in showing off their athletic skills, which added to the excitement and learning activities.

Given the weather and the time of year, running inside WAS allowed, with the 40 yard dash and other fetes taking place in the hallways of the school.  Twelve football players took part, giving the Nicholson students a chance to literally look up to athletes.

Before becoming Nicholson’s principal, Rex was Assistant Principal at Tuttle Middle School and English Teacher/Head Football Coach at Crawfordsville High School.  He has earned graduate degrees in education as Educational Specialist and Educational System Administration, and is currently working towards a PhD in Educational Leadership and Administration at Indiana State University, with expected completion in 2015.
