Cameron McDougal ’12/in the classroom and in the field

Cameron McDougal ’12 hasn’t wasted a minute of time since graduation:  finishing up a master’s program at the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs with a degree in Criminal Justice and Public Safety (concentration in Homeland Security and Emergency Management); interning with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, including with the Secretary’s Homeland Security Advisory Council in DC, and currently with the U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations with risk analysis and field investigations.

Options after graduation may include HIS agent; he is a semifinalist for the Presidential Management Fellowship (PMF), a two year fellowship through the Executive Office of the President (of the United States); and applying for the U.S. Secret Service protective detail. Cameron’s long-term career goal is to be an HSI Agent.

As a Biology major, he realized that his underlying interest in studying biology was the systematic, formalized way to look at problems, the same thought process that he now uses on a daily basis in his current field of study and work experiences.
