Bill Boone ‘60 is graduate of Ladoga High School and played baseball and basketball at Wabash College, where he was head baseball coach 1986-1999.  He has taught English and Latin for his entire career, primarily at Crawfordsville, Fountain Central, and Covington high schools in West-Central Indiana.  He’s long since retired, but continues to serve as a substitute teacher at local schools, and takes advantage of Wabash facilities such as Lilly Library to promote higher education – and Wabash College – to local high school students.

This has all laid the ground work for another passion – Bill is an historian of Montgomery County and its sports.  He also writes a weekly column for The Paper of Montgomery County, in which he focuses on looking back at what sports in the Montgomery County once were, such as the history of girls’ and boys’ basketball uniforms.
