Ken Turchi ’80 has long been fascinated with L.S. Ayres & Company, the iconic Hoosier department store that began as a dry good store in the late 1800’s.  Ken even worked at an Ayres store during his college years.  Thousands of Hoosiers remember some connection to Ayres, whether from visits to the store near Monument Circle or stores in several locations across Indiana, to visiting the Ayres Tea Room or magically decorated store windows during the holidays.

Ken’s just-released book, L.S. Ayres and Company: The Store at the Crossroads of America, is available through the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center.  Click here to read more about the book.

Ken earned his JD from Indiana University Maurer School of Law, and is the Assistant Dean, Communications and Marketing, at Indiana University Maurer School of Law.  He lives in Indianapolis, and completed his book in his spare time over the last few years.

Congratulations, Ken!
