Carolyn Goff – Senior Administrative Assistant to the President – hung up her pen and keyboard yesterday. A crowd well beyond a packed house gathered at Caleb Mills House to wish Carolyn and her husband Gary a great retirement.
I am pretty sure if you look up “style” and ”grace” in your Funk and Wagnalls, you’ll find Carolyn’s picture there.
Carolyn got a big surprise when Andy Ford H’03 and Anne Ford H’06, Wabash’s 14th President and First Lady, arrived. I think I heard Carolyn gasp and I was in the next room. As everyone knows, many of Carolyn’s years in the President’s office were working with Andy.
The reception was a fun affair. Folks laughed and laughed as they recounted the “good, old days” and numerous stories – I even heard mention of the very secret Friday ritual of the Chicken Dance!
Deb Woods, wife of the Director of Security Rich Woods, is Carolyn’s replacement. They’re different folks in some ways but the smiles and the love of Wabash remain the same.
And that’s what it’s all about.
Carolyn Goff – Some Little Giant! We’ll miss you!
