That’s Scott Gall ’96 hoisting the Winner’s Trophy for the Jeremy Wright North American Snowshoe Championships held recently in Beaver Creek, Colorado.  The race is held in honor of Jeremy Wright ’96 – Jeremy was a Green Beret killed in action in Afghanistan in 2005.

Scott and his wife Sarah ran the race.  Both are members of the official racing team of Atlas Snowshoes.

Jeremy, Scott, and Wabash’s cross country coach Roger Busch ’96 are all in the Wabash Athletics Hall of Fame for their running accomplishments.  Known affectionately as the Three Amigos, they were stars at Wabash and continued to enjoyed stellar post-collegiate careers.

Jeremy Wright’s mother, Jackie, was there to see Scott capture the win.

The following was added by another contributor to the original Grunge Report to add further clarification….

Taking place at Beaver Creek’s McCoy Park, tan elevation of nearly 10,000 feet, the Championship snowshoe race was the third event in the four=event Beaver Creek Snowshoe Adenture Series. Ten-K participants vied for the title of North American Snowshoe Champion , while all participants paid tribute to Vail’s Jeremy WRight, an avid snowshoer and local competitor who died in 2005 in Afghanistan while serving in the United States Army.
