Next time you’re at a Wabash basketball game, take just a short break from cheering like crazy and watch Coach Mac Petty H’82. Coach is a non-stop teacher of basketball. All the little nuances, he knows. All the moves, he understands. Coach knows basketball!
But it isn’t until you’re on a trip with Mac, like Carol and I were to a tourney in Texas, that you really appreciate all he does for our young men. Mac teaches them about life. On the San Antonio trip, Mac made sure the guys went to the Alamo and took in the sights of the famous RiverWalk. After all, those experiences are also a part of a young man’s liberal arts education. †
