As a part of the past weekend’s full agenda, we paused from Inauguration events and Trustee meetings to unveil the presidential portrait of President Andy Ford. Those of you who know Andy know that he had to be dragged kicking and screaming to the event. Joe Barnette alluded as much during the brief ceremony in the Lilly Library which brought laughter to everyone involved.
The Whites, Barnette, and the Fords enjoyed the moment. Moments later, Andy mentioned he toyed with the idea of replacing his portrait with one of a solemn-faced Presbyterian minister from the Archives. Now that would have brought the house down.
