The Celebration of Student Research on Friday, January 27, 2006 has been covered elsewhere on our web site (click here) – it was simply incredible.
For example, I happened on John Anagnostou ’07, a biology major, discussing his research with Wabash Trustee and noted Indianapolis pediatrician Jim Cumming ’61. John spent last summer working with a research team at the IU School of Medicine. He plans to continue his research this coming summer and following graduation attend medical school.
It’s one thing to do this kind of research – a life experience. It’s another to stand there and talk with a well-known doctor, on a virtually equal footing, about something they both see as critical research with life-saving implications.
John will be a difference maker, I’m sure. Just like Jim Cumming ’61 and so many others…
