John Ryder, of Memphis TN, was sworn in as a member of the Tennessee Valley Authority board of directors on March 20, 2019. His term will expire on May 18, 2021. Nominated by President Donald Trump, he was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on Feb. 18, 2019 and sworn into office by Judge S. Thomas Anderson, Chief U.S. District Judge for the Western District of Tennessee.
John has most recently served as the General Counsel for the Republican National Committee while maintaining his role as a leading bankruptcy and election law attorney with the Harris Shelton law firm in Memphis.
Following Wabash, John earned his Juris Doctor degree at Vanderbilt University, where he has also served as an adjunct professor.
