Eric Wetzel is an Associate Professor of Biology.  He’s a neat guy who does an absolutely tremendous job teaching our young men.  I recall early one summer morning meeting Eric and his summer interns as they worked in the lab.  I pretended to understanding what they were talking about – remember I am the guy who passed Bio I by a single point.  The point is those guys were receiving a world class education on top of a unique personal experience.

Eric is on sabbatical.  A time to "research, travel, or rest", according to my paperback dictionary.  Well Eric isn’t resting, that’s for sure.  He’s studying and working in the field of Global Health in Peru.  No clean lab or big library.  He is, as they say, "out there in it."

You can follow Eric and share his experiences through his blog – here’s the link: http://blogs.wabash.edu/peru_parasites_globalhealth/
