After graduating with an economics major
/psychology minor, John returned to his hometown neighborhood on Chicago’s southeast side to pursue a career in public service. He has worked in several positions in Chicago city government, and was first elected as alderman in 1999. A third generation resident of the neighborhood, he is now in his fourth elected term.
