As I reflect on my recent IT internship, I am overwhelmed by the growth, learning, and invaluable experiences I’ve gained over the past few months. This opportunity has been a stepping stone into the world of Information Technology, and it has allowed me to put my classroom knowledge to the test in a real-world setting.

From day one, I was immersed in a dynamic environment, surrounded by people who I built a good relationship. The exposure to cutting-edge technologies and the chance to work on real projects were highlights of my internship. I remember my first task: troubleshooting network issues and helping with the help desk tickets.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my internship was the opportunity to collaborate with a team. I worked alongside with my supervisor, manager who gave me and the others lots of guidance and without forgetting my coworkers, each of them brought their unique perspectives to the table. This experience not only enriched my technical skills but also honed my ability to communicate and cooperate effectively within a team, a skill that’s invaluable in any professional setting.

As the weeks passed, I was entrusted with more responsibilities. I delved into replacing computers from each lab rooms, imaging Windows computers and iOS devices, installing new computers, for new faculties. The sense of accomplishment I felt after successfully completing these tasks cannot be put into words. Each hurdle I overcame was a testament to my growth as an IT professional.

Beyond the technical skills, my internship taught me about adaptability and problem-solving. The IT landscape is constantly evolving, and being able to adapt to new tools and techniques is essential. I faced various challenges, from unexpected task that I couldn’t do. These situations taught me the importance of staying calm under pressure and finding innovative solutions.

Looking back, I’m grateful for the mentorship I received from Michael Heinold during my internship. My mentors not only guided me through technical aspects but also shared valuable career advice. He quoted this “Alex has been with our IT team for the past two summers and has helped us tremendously. We could always count on him to finish his tasks in a timely and professional manner. He has shown good leadership skills being our only returning student this past summer. “They encouraged me to continue learning, exploring new areas within IT, and building a strong professional network.

This IT internship has been a transformative journey, providing me with the practical experience, skills, and confidence needed to take my first steps in the IT industry. I’m excited to apply what I’ve learned and continue growing as a professional. I want to thank Jamie Ross, all the IT staff and my supervisor Michael. The knowledge gained, and the relationships built during this
internship will undoubtedly shape my future in remarkable ways, and I am eager to see where this path takes me.
