As the sun-soaked days of summer beckoned, I embarked on an exciting journey as an Engagement Intern, ready to dive into the world of event planning and student empowerment. Little did I know that the next few months would be transformative, teaching me valuable skills while leaving lasting memories. One of my primary responsibilities as an Engagement Intern was planning the freshman orientation. Navigating the new college terrain can be overwhelming for incoming students, so creating an inclusive and vibrant orientation experience was vital. From designing interactive icebreakers to arranging informative campus tours, I took immense pleasure in curating an unforgettable introduction to college life for the eager freshmen.

Another aspect of my role involved coordinating club management. Witnessing the passionate drive of various student clubs was truly inspiring. I facilitated meetings, assisted in organizing events, and ensured that clubs had the resources they needed to thrive. The experience taught me the importance of effective communication, adaptability, and the art of multitasking.
Being a liaison between administration and students proved to be the most rewarding aspect of my internship. I acted as a bridge, attentively listening to students’ concerns and relaying them to the administration. In turn, I conveyed administrative decisions back to the students while offering support and guidance. This role highlighted the significance of empathy, diplomacy, and problem-solving.Throughout this whirlwind summer, I cultivated essential skills that extend far beyond the
internship’s scope. I developed organizational prowess, honed my ability to handle diverse perspectives, and refined my leadership capabilities. Most importantly, I discovered the joy of empowering others, fostering a sense of belonging, and creating a positive impact within the college community. As I bid farewell to my summer engagement intern role, I carry with me a newfound sense of confidence and purpose. This experience has sparked my passion for event planning and student affairs, motivating me to pursue a career dedicated to facilitating growth, connection, and empowerment among future genera8ons of students.
