This Summer, through the Latino Community Center, I worked along my coworker and fraternity brother, Marco Garcia on the Latino Community Center Newsletter for the 2025-2026 year. We both had a unique and special experience that helped me with researching methods, and learning about the story and relevance the new LCC building had on this first year since the inauguration. The main goal I had was to share the stories and moments that we lived through the year by making sure it included pictures and little
paragraphs describing the experiences.
This being my first college internship by working for Dr. Julio Enriquez-Ornelas helped me strengthen my abilities to write and reach out to people. We got the opportunity to interview some alumni and current Wabash brothers to be able to include some of their quotes and opinions about the LCC house. I enjoyed all the moments of
looking for pictures and writing, because it is going to be helpful for my future presentations on the Rhetoric field, which is
my intended major, and with this experience my ability to communicate and express ideas will be easier.
Even though this internship was online and I couldn’t spend time in person with my coworker, the moments we shared by talking about different ideas and connecting with someone while brainstorming, was such a nice moment. Me being the oldest brother in my family, I never had someone to rely on for advice, and Marco helped me with some stuff like grammatical errors and revising the newsletter. He was the one in charge of the English version, and I did the Spanish version, but at the end we both contributed with the same information and got to share the LCC story through events like La Posada, Dia de los Muertos, or even through the LCC Community Scholars activities which are, HOSE Elementary School Mentors, Conversation Tables and the Mariachi Club.
