This summer, I recently finished my internship with Sikich. My eight-week internship program was truly an experience doing data entry, managing Sikich’s software for Site Selection & Incentives, and other related projects. Through this time, I had the opportunity to learn more about what Site Selection & Incentives were about and how they truly impact the business world. I had the chance to also meet a great community over at Sikich. It is a space where they appreciate and recognize their employee’s work and dedication without question.

Before this internship, I was confident in my strengths. I had the willingness to learn, be an analytical person, and build new relationships. I imagined that accepting this internship it would help me develop new skills to better prepare me for my future career, reinforce my analytical skills, and start practicing talking in a professional setting. During my internship, I noticed as an intern half the time involves asking questions. The other part was listening attentively for any commands, advice, etc. For example, one piece of advice I received was that getting to know a person means more than business. Establishing a real connection with a potential client is key to business of any type.

From obtaining the internship to finishing it, I would say that doing this internship has initiated my journey up-head for any open job opportunities in the future. I would also like to thank Cassie Hagan for helping me lock in an internship for this summer Jake Riley who guided me through my interview process, and Career Services. Along with the people who helped me transition into my first internship; the Sikich Indianapolis community.

This internship has been fully funded by Wabash – and has been a unique internship experience… I am also excited to announce that I will continue working for Sikich as part of the Site Selection & Incentives team.
