Today the BIP (Business Innovation Program) went to Carmel, IN to visit a few alumni at
Archon Tech Strategies in Platform 24. We talked to and met Tony Unfried ‘03 about security services and software development for detecting IDs are repeat charges on records at concerts, football games, etc. The BIP also gave introductions to Tony, and one fun fact about him is that he does not like AI. One piece of advice he gave to us was to get experience in all fields before you choose a solidified career job, there might be something out there to change your mind.

Another alumni we visited with was Jim Snyder ‘82 who worked with private equity and buys
companies, rebuilds, and sells! His story was very interesting, and it sparked a lot of financial
minds and arose lots of questions pondering on the difficulty.

We then took a short lunch break with Tony Unfried and Jim Snyder, then migrated towards Eli Lilly and CO Pharmaceutical and
joined Isaac Myers ‘21 and Devin Guard ‘21 through a tour of some of the buildings. If you don’t know Eli Lilly, he was a Colonel, pharmaceutical chemist, and veteran of the American Civil War. A fun fact about Eli Lilly is that it introduced the world’s first commercially available insulin product, Iletin, in 1923 for the treatment of diabetes. Isaac Myers ‘21 talked to the BIP
2023 about marketing and the basis of how it works in the pharmaceutical world and how you can apply and intern for Eli Lilly as it is a very prestigious company with very successful workers involved.
