In March of 1892 a group of several ladies organized the Art Students’ League, which was the first art club in Muncie. It grew up after Adams closed his art school in late 1891.The Art Students’ League was created so that the people of Muncie could still salvage the studios and continue to study art on their own. The Art Students’ League was a sign that Adam’s influence for the love of art was present in the people of Muncie and was now an important cultural aspect of the town. Adams and four other men were listed as honorary members of the Art Students’ League. The Art Students’ League still operates today.
