This summer, I had the opportunity to be a sales intern for Tony Unfried ‘03 at his company, CSA360. CSA360 is a security management software company that allows security teams to streamline all of their operations into one platform. I was exposed to the process of keeping a sales pipeline moving and
helped do so. Learning about and practicing software sales at the company of a Wabash alumnus was a rewarding and developmental experience that I am very appreciative of.

One of the pleasant surprises of this opportunity was working with Vinny Buccilla ‘25, who is heading into his senior year at Wabash, and Jalen Turpen, who is an Account Executive at CSA360. Vinny and I worked as partner sales interns and collaborated on all of our projects under the guidance of Jalen.
Throughout the summer, we genuinely came together as a team. Building relationships with the two of them was one of the most enjoyable aspects of my time at CSA360.

In the beginning weeks of my experience, we completed an updated Competitive Landscape Analysis to gauge the security management software space. After we had a grasp on our competition, Vinny and I worked jointly on a prospect list of professional sports arenas and stadiums as well as manufacturers
throughout the United States. I acquired knowledge of tools used by salespeople to identify and seek out prospects while also learning about how security teams can use software to operate efficiently.

Reaching out to prospects through emails and phone calls and listening to Tony and Jalen converse with current clients became regular experiences. Learning and repping cold calling was an exciting, somewhat nerve-wracking skill that I had the opportunity to practice at CSA360. Jalen was a great teacher of techniques and advice for calls of this nature. Conversing and creating relationships with Security Directors within various sectors was a defining element of my experience. I arranged and conducted
short meetings with several Security Directors of NFL, NBA, and NHL stadiums and arenas which was an invaluable experience.

I am extremely thankful of Tony Unfried, all in the career services office, and all who helped fund the Wabash SBIF for the opportunity to learn and grow as a Wabash man this summer.
