BIP Interns get a photo with Ron Dostal ’92 after a session.

During my Business Immersion program, all interns had a LinkedIn tutorial session with Cassie Hagan and Bryan Biddle. We were instructed on how to leverage this platform to identify and make contact with the people working in our desired field. I’ve learned how to network with Alumni on LinkedIn, especially by taking notes and introducing myself to them. Receiving relevant advice from alums has made my life easier since they were in my position years ago and knew what I struggled with. Moreover, it’s super valuable to learn about personal branding and use it to create my profile. Before this session, I was absolutely clueless about what to put on my LinkedIn profile. Therefore, I want to thank Cassie Hagan and Bryan Biddle for hosting the session and walking us through all the details we need to know.

Another highlight of my summer was the three days of learning about and solving case studies with other interns under the guidance and supervision of Ron Dostal ‘92. He expanded our knowledge of the business world by providing us with distinctive cases and applicable consulting frameworks. In addition, mastering the ins and outs of Excel, from basic functions to advanced formulas, and new concepts related to Financial Statements with Zackery Carl was mind-blowing. Having Samuel R. Stewart teach us about setting goals for the present and future was so much fun and intriguing. All of these wonderful experiences are unforgettable parts of my first summer in the US. I would love to thank all the alumni that I’ve had a chance to encounter and talk to. Finally, a special thanks to Cassie and Bryan for creating a workplace for all interns to learn, work, and play well.
