New Faculty Orientation

Our New Faculty Orientation program begins with an orientation program, typically held in the first week of August and typically includes programming for four half-days (Tuesday through Friday) in the first or second week of the month. Throughout the first year, orientation continues with monthly meetings with the New Faculty Orientation co-chairs, in sessions that focus on a range of professional topics of interest to new faculty (such as using mid-course feedback, oral comprehensive exams for seniors, and leading effective class discussions). New faculty are also assigned a faculty mentor, typically from outside of their department and often academic division, who will meet with the new faculty member throughout the year.

New faculty receive their Wabash emails and accounts after July 1. At that point, new faculty will be able to access our Canvas page for New Faculty Orientation. For those arriving in town before July, we have gathered some information about the College and community (see our Welcome to Wabash page).
