This summer, I had the privilege of working in two enriching roles that allowed me to deeply
engage with the Wabash community and develop valuable skills. I spent six weeks with the Stephenson Institute of Classical Liberalism, collaborating with Nishant Humagain (2027) under the guidance of Dr. Dan D’Amico and Violet Benge. This experience was particularly meaningful as it marked the inaugural launch of the Stephenson Institute’s summer seminar program. I had the opportunity to contribute to the organizational aspects, such as setting up the seminar and managing logistics, as well as the participatory aspects, engaging in in-depth discussions on economic principles, law, and the concept of liberty with peers and faculty. The critical thinking and interpersonal skills I’ve developed at Wabash made me feel at home, even among such distinguished company.

In addition to my work with the Stephenson Institute, I also served as the Front Desk Hotel Concierge at Trippet Hall under the supervision of Kevin Jett. My responsibilities included checking guests in and out, maintaining the building’s safety and comfort, and ensuring that guests’ needs were met. Much of my time was spent monitoring the lobby, conducting routine checks, and interacting with guests. These interactions were particularly fulfilling, as they allowed me to connect with alumni and other members of the Wabash community, enhancing my communication skills and expanding my professional network.

Working at Trippet Hall also helped prepare me for a future professional environment. I gained valuable experience in management, customer relations, and problem-solving, particularly in responding to guest concerns and handling building emergencies. From adjusting room temperatures to coordinating with the Crawfordsville Fire Department, each situation was handled with professionalism and care. This hands-on experience was invaluable in honing my skills and shaping my approach to professional challenges.

As the summer comes to an end, I am deeply grateful for the opportunities provided by the Wabash community. The support of Dr. Dan D’Amico, Violet Benge, Kevin Jett and my peers Arman Luthra (2026), Nishant Humagain (2027) have helped me to grow both personally and professionally, and I am eager to apply what I’ve learned in the future. I hope to continue contributing to the Wabash community and to support future students in their journeys, just as I have been supported in mine.
