In November, Professor of Classics Emeritus Joseph Day joined three other senior Classicist speakers to address a one-day symposium at Washington University in St. Louis celebrating the retirement of Professors Robert Lamberton and Susan Rotroff.
Professor Day spoke on “Pots and Poems: Greek Inscribed Epigram in its Physical, Cultural, and Poetic Contexts.”
In December he served as chief examiner for the defense of a PhD dissertation on Greek dialogue epigram at the University of Helsinki in Finland.
