I enjoy taking pictures but don’t consider myself very good at it, though I do like this picture I took last fall of a parrot (click here for a larger image). Fortunately there are lots of great resources on the web filled with useful tips.

A great place to start for improving the quality of your pictures is to learn the capabilities of your camera. Most digital cameras are really easy to operate, and most take decent pictures with their default settings. But to get really great pictures you need to delve a little deeper into the manual to understand all the intricacies of your camera.
