As we announced on the Tech Notes blog recently (Getting Organized with Google Calendar, 10/6/06), Wabash has adopted Google Calendar as our preferred personal calendaring system. Since that decision, we’ve been looking for ways to tie in the Wabash events calendar.
Earlier today, we added an "add to my Google Calendar" button to the event description page. Now, whenever you find a Wabash event that interests you, simply click on this button to add it to your Google calendar. You’ll be prompted to log in (if you’re not already), and will have a chance to add notes or make changes to the event before saving it to your calendar.
All Google Calendar users, whether on campus, or Wabash alumni, or area residents, can use this feature to add Wabash events to your calendar.
If you’re not currently a Google Calendar user, it’s easy to get started (and it’s free!). Go to www.google.com/calendar and click the “Create a new Google Account” button. You can sign up with your Wabash email address, and then reminders and invitations will go directly to your Wabash account. If you need help signing up or using the system, contact the Help Desk for assistance.
If you don’t use Google Calendar, you can receive reminders of Wabash events via email. Simply click on the "send me an email reminder" button, enter your email address and when you want to be reminded, and our calendar system will automatically send you an email reminder of the event that morning.
I hope these tools help you keep track of all the great events taking place on the Wabash campus.
