The trip to Auschwitz is genuinely one that will stick with me for as long as I live. It was a very tragic but still life-changing experience to see and learn about the atrocities committed within the camps. While reading in class Tadeusz Borowski’s This Way for the Gas, Ladies, and Gentlemen, one can never fully imagine or even comprehend the true extent of the concentration camp.
Seeing these events’ true horrors and images truly stays with your heart and mind. One moment that I will never forget is that of going into the gas chamber and seeing the fingernail markings and the dimly lit room where thousands of people were murdered.
It is truly a horror depicted in Borowski’s book and an experience one must see in one’s lifetime. It is one of the most life-changing experiences one can have.
