{"id":2203,"date":"2013-07-18T07:25:54","date_gmt":"2013-07-18T07:25:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.wabash.edu\/thegrunge\/?p=2203"},"modified":"2013-07-18T07:25:54","modified_gmt":"2013-07-18T07:25:54","slug":"thats-it-i-am-officially-ancient","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.wabash.edu\/thegrunge\/2013\/07\/18\/thats-it-i-am-officially-ancient\/","title":{"rendered":"That&#8217;s It &#8211; I Am Officially Ancient!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This fall Wabash will welcome back two fantastic young men &#8211; Olmy Olmstead and Fran Raycroft. \u00a0Both talented young guys &#8211; Olmy played football and Fran was a star in Biology.<\/p>\n<p>Welcome back? \u00a0That&#8217;s right.<\/p>\n<p>Olmy Olmstead, Class of 2004, is back as a football and track coach.<\/p>\n<p>Fran Raycroft, Class of 2006, is back as a visiting instructor in Bio.<\/p>\n<p>That makes the Grunge, Class of ALTA (A Long Time Ago), officially ancient.<\/p>\n<p>Olmy and I have stayed in contact over the years. \u00a0He had coaching in his blood even as a student. \u00a0I&#8217;ve caught up with Olmy, and his family, at away football games on the rare occasion that his team at the time wasn&#8217;t playing. \u00a0Olmy&#8230;his parents&#8230;and his grandparents are true Wabash fans&#8230;it will be super to see a lot more of them.<\/p>\n<p>Fran went from the &#8216;Bash to another of my favorites, the University of Notre Dame. \u00a0I caught up with him when he was a summer intern there &#8211; before he went to grad school. \u00a0I remember clearly the Biology faculty member at ND telling me he sure hoped Fran would attend grad school there. \u00a0The ultimate compliment&#8230;for Fran and Wabash.<\/p>\n<p>From students as campus difference makers to guys molding \u00a0our students. \u00a0It&#8217;s great to have Olmy and Fran back on campus!<\/p>\n<p>But man &#8211; am I old or what?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This fall Wabash will welcome back two fantastic young men &#8211; Olmy Olmstead and Fran Raycroft. \u00a0Both talented young guys &#8211; Olmy played football and Fran was a star in Biology.
