Lance Armstrong’s got nothing on Wabash mathematics professor Peter Thompson and me: last week we successfully defended our intramural chess crown for the faculty/staff team, claiming our fifth straight championship. Peter and I each went 3-0 in the weighted round-robin tournament, easily outpacing student teams from Lambda Chi Alpha, Phi Kappa Psi, Delta Tau Delta, and Tau Kappa Epsilon.
As a Wabash employee, I thoroughly enjoy living and working in a college environment. Whether IM sports, public lectures, plays, musical performances, art shows, varsity athletics, departmental colloquia, or a host of other activities and events, there’s no shortage of things to do, and almost all of them free (aside from the occasional computer question from other attendees, of course…)
