Last week, Mike Heinold gave a Tech Talk presentation on Google Calendar. We’ve recently adopted Google Calendar as the IT supported personal calendar system, replacing Netscape Calendar (which will be phased out October 27).

Google Calendar is a great tool to keep track of your personal calendar. You can share your calendar with coworkers, classmates, friends, and family members, helping you keep track what’s going on with others, all through an easy-to-use web site. To learn more, check out the very nice online tour of the program.

We’re working now on integrating the Wabash events calendar with Google calendar, so that you can see campus events in your personal calendar. More on that in the coming weeks.

If you’d like to start using Google Calendar, it’s easy to get started. Go to www.google.com/calendar and click the “Create a new Google Account” button. You can sign up with your Wabash email address, and then reminders and invitations will go directly to your Wabash account. If you need help signing up or using the system, contact the Help Desk for assistance.

IT Services will provide additional software that will allow Wabash faculty and staff who use a palm or similar device to sync with the Google Calendar. Contact the Help Desk for more information.
