IT Services’ first "Tech Talk" of the fall semester will be held on Tuesday September 12 at noon in Baxter 114. We will present an overview of summer technology projects, and also review results of our 2006 Student Technology Survey. Pizza and drinks will be available in Baxter Lounge at noon.

This week we’ll take a closer look at some of our summer projects, including our new email server, computer lab upgrades, classroom technology enhancements, improved wireless network coverage, upgraded Internet connection, and enhanced on-line resources. The talk will be more than just a laundry-list of project through–we’ll talk about how students, faculty and staff can make the most of the new and improved services.

We’ll also review the results of our April 2006 Student Technology Survey, from which several of our summer technology projects originated. 535 students completed the survey last spring, which offers interesting insight into how our students use technology, and what they expect out of it.

Tech Talks are held in Baxter Hall 114 on the second and fourth Tuesday each month during the academic year.  Each talk features a presentation on technology at Wabash, and includes lunch.  Our next talk will be September 26, when Mike Heinold will discuss the Google Calendar. You can view the entire fall schedule on our tech talk series page.
