Hey Wabash! This summer, I got the opportunity to work at the BIP internship, learning about business structure and entrepreneurship through different Wabash alums. Big thanks to Cassie Hagan and Matthew Brookes for guiding us through this internship and helping us understand what a professional work life looks like across different sectors of business. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of the fascinating trips we got to experience was visiting Eli Lilly to look at internal business structure and hear from alums on their day-to-day responsibilities and their path since college. Hearing from outstanding people such as Kip Chase and Parker Redelman taught us how to become an approachable leader who manages time well and has strong structure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another big part of this internship was developing financial literacy across different sectors of finance. We got the opportunity to learn about private equity, investment banking, market making, reinsurance, and more through visiting different finance firms throughout Chicago. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
We wrapped up the trip in South Bend, taking a campus tour of Notre Dame and taking in the architecture of a well-built campus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Finally, the most fulfilling experience was Big Bash. We got the privilege to host Wabash alums coming back for their 20th, 25th, etc. reunions. We drove the alums around campus, giving tours and hearing about their different campus stories from “back in their day.” This experience gave me great perspective on Wabash and continues to display the brotherhood and loyalty the alums carry with them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I will be forever thankful for this opportunity and would definitely recommend this program to any aspiring business student at Wabash! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
