In June, I had the opportunity to intern at Wabash College in the Business Immersion
Program, and I\u2019m grateful for an experience that pushed me far beyond the classroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the past month, I gained hands-on experience in the fields of entrepreneurship,
consulting, and finance. Our preparation over the first few weeks included valuable lessons from Wabash alumni on how to analyze problems strategically and adopt a business-focused perspective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The core of the program was the pitch competition, where five teams spent careful time developing a business concept to present to a panel of judges. I had the privilege of collaborating with a fantastic group: Quinn Hundt (our fearless captain), Ryan Keating, and Scotty Semler. Together, we brainstormed, refined, and ultimately pitched an app designed to transform the nightlife experience with real-time insights and more thoughtful recommendations, enabling venues to promote themselves in the most suitable space. Our efforts were rewarded with a $100,000 (imaginary) investment from the judges, serving as a testament to our teamwork and creativity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We faced numerous obstacles throughout our journey as we refined our idea and prepared our final pitch. But those challenges made the experience even more rewarding, teaching me valuable lessons about collaboration, adaptability, and the harsh realities of launching a business. I was able to leverage many of my strengths throughout this process, as I coordinated group efforts, built strong relationships with your teammates and mentors, and utilized my skills to pursue high standards and understand user needs for our product.<\/p>\n\n\n

I want to extend a sincere thank you to the Wabash alumni community for their encouragement, and a special shoutout to our program directors, Cassie Hagan and Bryan Biddle, as well as our judges, Pat East, Eric Dunaway, and Ron Dostal, for making this opportunity possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
