The experience expanded my understanding of executive search, strengthened my professional skills, and gave me confidence in my career aspirations.

From day one, I worked on projects that pushed me into new industries and challenges. The active client search list and Account-Based Marketing project gave me insight into how nonprofits, social organizations, and foundations align with Stanton Chase’s expertise. Client preparation assignments introduced me to industries such as international organizations, consumer products, and family offices, while candidate research taught me to build precise LinkedIn Recruiter searches and evaluate top-tier talent for organizations like the Bonner Foundation and Gates Ventures.

Some of my proudest accomplishments were my contributions to three major initiatives. First, I conducted research on AI tools for business development, evaluating emerging solutions to strengthen the prospecting and outreach capabilities of the consultants, which earned positive feedback from the team. Second, I co-developed a Private Equity market analysis, which expanded my business knowledge and revealed how executive search adapts to evolving industries. Finally, I collaborated on Managing Director Jeff Perkins’ November LinkedIn campaign, creating seven original video scripts and gaining a deeper appreciation for the strategic planning behind professional content creation.

Beyond technical skills, this internship fostered personal growth. Early on, I sometimes hesitated to take on new tasks, but working with colleagues like TJ and Cole motivated me to step forward and embrace responsibility. I was also reminded of the value of problem-solving independently before seeking help, a habit I will carry into future roles.

I would like to thank Jeff Perkins and Abbey Corona for their mentorship and guidance, the entire D.C. office for their support, and Wabash Career Services for connecting students to such impactful opportunities! If any Wabash students reading are interested in interning at Stanton Chase, do not hesitate to reach out.

This summer, I had the privilege of serving as a Business Development Associate at Stanton Chase, a global executive search firm, in their Washington, D.C. office.
