This was my first internship in the U.S., but I think it was a very good experience. My main duties were to check in and check out guests staying at Trippet Hall and to answer questions from guests. I was able to handle the check-in and check-out tasks without a hitch, but there were some questions from guests that I didn’t understand when I first started working here, which caused some problems not only for the guests but also for my supervisors, Jasmine and Henry. This happened many times in the first few weeks, but I tried to learn each time so as not to repeat the same thing again. As a result, I was able to handle many of the tasks with ease. I feel that I was able to acquire various skills through this internship opportunity. One of them is problem-solving ability. While working at the front desk, I was asked several times by guests staying at Trippet Hall and visitors to Wabash College questions about Trippet Hall and the college. I was able to respond to some of these questions by applying my own knowledge to them. I also feel that I can find the ability to think in my own way at the same time, rather than just telling them what I don’t know from the beginning. Another ability I acquired was the ability to communicate. To be honest, I did not think I was a good communicator. However, through this internship, I had the opportunity to talk with many people, and I gradually became comfortable talking with
others. I think I have learned many things through this summer internship and have been able to turn them into my abilities. To be honest, I felt that this internship had no direct impact on my major or what I want to do in the future. However, the problem-solving and communication skills I acquired through the internship will be indispensable no matter what job I get in the future, so I think this internship was a very good experience. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Wabash College and the other people involved dfor giving me the opportunity for this internship.

This past summer I had an internship as a front desk concierge at Wabash College’s Trippet Hall.
