{"id":339,"date":"2014-09-11T20:46:31","date_gmt":"2014-09-11T20:46:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.wabash.edu\/magazine\/?p=339"},"modified":"2023-05-24T17:57:23","modified_gmt":"2023-05-24T17:57:23","slug":"sizzle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.wabash.edu\/magazine\/2014\/09\/11\/sizzle\/","title":{"rendered":"Sizzle!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Home runs and Homer\u2014it may have seemed an unlikely combination, but fans of baseball and Greek turned out in droves for Wabash\u2019s first ever <i>Suovetaurilia<\/i>, a tasty re-enactment of an ancient Greco-Roman ritual.\u00a0Students and professors from five Classics courses produced\u00a0the event.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou\u2019ll learn about Greco-Roman religion through all of your senses,\u201d Professor of Classics Jeremy Hartnett \u201996 promised in his invitation.\u00a0\u201cYou\u2019ll hear Greek prayers and watch a re-enactment of a traditional sacrifice.
