{"id":400,"date":"2010-06-25T12:54:33","date_gmt":"2010-06-25T12:54:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.wabash.edu\/fyi\/2010\/06\/25\/lime-being-added-to-field\/"},"modified":"2010-06-25T12:54:33","modified_gmt":"2010-06-25T12:54:33","slug":"lime-being-added-to-field","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.wabash.edu\/fyi\/2010\/06\/25\/lime-being-added-to-field\/","title":{"rendered":"Lime Being Added to Field"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" align=\"right\" width=\"300\" height=\"218\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.wabash.edu\/www2images\/LimeStory1.jpg\" \/>Kyle Bender &#8217;12<\/em> &#8211; Hollett Little Giant Field saw a flurry of activity Friday morning as crews poured large truck loads of lime across the playing surface.<\/p>\n<p>The lime is being put down to help dry up moisture that has seeped into the ground as a result of the numerous thunderstorms that have hit Crawfordsville during the month of June.<\/p>\n<p>Dennis Marsh, who is&nbsp;assistant project manager,&nbsp;said the lime will provide another layer of drainage for the field, which will have several additional layers of gravel added next week.&nbsp;Cement drains have been poured on the inside of more than half the track oval.<\/p>\n<p>A new development to the field progress was the addition of electrical wires protruding from the earthy soil.&nbsp;The wires were run underground to several locations on the field, including the site of the new scoreboard located on the southeast corner of the stadium.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Get a quick panoramic view of the project in the short video clip below:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kyle Bender &#8217;12 &#8211; Hollett Little Giant Field saw a flurry of activity Friday morning as crews poured large truck loads of lime across the playing surface.
