Much of the audience was made up of seniors who were anxious to hear the president that rang them in as freshmen speak one last time. Click <a href=\"http:\/\/caleb.wabash.edu\/podcast\/Chapel\/2008_4_24_Ford.mp3\">here<\/a> to listen to the podcast.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">President Ford began by explaining he doesn\u2019t really like to speak in public but was persuaded by the Sphinx Club to make an appearance in the Chapel he hadn\u2019t spoken in since Baccalaureate 2006.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cIt\u2019s good to be back,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cFreshmen, remember the first time going home after you started here? It looked the same but felt different. Finally you realize <em>you<\/em><span style=\"font-style: normal\"> are what\u2019s different,\u201d Ford stated. \u201cI feel that way today.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">In addressing the seniors, Ford reminded the men \u201clife is what you make it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Although many of them have been big fish here at Wabash, he said \u201cWhen you are a guppy out in that big ocean, it doesn\u2019t matter. It\u2019s not about the ocean. It\u2019s about what you make of it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">His final encouraging words were for the seniors to move on and let the next group of students take up the leadership roles they once had at the College. \u201cBut, come back, and when you come back, it will be different and so will you.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wabash College\u2019s fourteenth president, Andy Ford, spoke at the final Chapel Talk of the year.
