Senior Devan Young has untertaken a video series called &#8220;Senior Seminar.&#8221; He is interviewing Wabash seniors not just about their collegiate experience but about their lives.<\/p>\n<p>Here is the second installment with Jose Herrera.<\/p>\n<p>http:\/\/youtu.be\/EHionorQarc<\/p>\n<p>And here is a <em>Bachelor<\/em> story from last week&#8217;s issue about Young written by sophomore Ben Bradshaw.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Bachelor<\/em> &#8211; Wabash doesn\u2019t have a Telecommunications Department, but that has not stopped Devan Young \u201913 from sharing his interest.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.wabash.edu\/fyi\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2012\/10\/devon-young.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-1656\" title=\"devon young\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.wabash.edu\/fyi\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2012\/10\/devon-young.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"342\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.wabash.edu\/fyi\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2012\/10\/devon-young.jpg 350w, https:\/\/blog.wabash.edu\/fyi\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2012\/10\/devon-young-300x293.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 350px) 100vw, 350px\" \/><\/a>Young is a Theater major from Chino Hills, Calif., a city just outside of Los Angeles.\u00a0 After coming to Wabash for Honor Scholarship Weekend during the spring of his senior year of high school, Young fell in love with the campus. \u00a0\u201cThe idea of leaving the West Coast was tough, but it was well worth it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Young is a brother of Kappa Sigma Fraternity.\u00a0 He is also involved in the MXI and APO.\u00a0 He\u2019s been involved in several plays in the past few years, the last of which was <em>The Miser <\/em>last spring.\u00a0 Young enjoys the brotherhood, as well as the academic challenges Wabash presents.<\/p>\n<p>This summer, the senior was given the opportunity to intern with Fox Sports Network in Los Angeles, Calif.\u00a0 While interning with the entertainment company, Young worked in the Engineering and Operations Division.\u00a0 \u201cI was given the opportunity to observe what company employees did everyday and performed some computer work,\u201d Young said.<\/p>\n<p>His internship related directly with his plans for the future. \u00a0\u201cI loved my time at Fox because I was able to work close to home and the experience was unforgettable and invaluable,\u201d he said. \u00a0Currently, he is researching graduate programs in journalism and film to enroll in after he graduates.<\/p>\n<p>Young is furthering his interest in film journalism by beginning a new video series titled \u201cSenior Seminar.\u201d\u00a0 Young and Media Coordinator Adam Bowen decided that the senior should have his own show.\u00a0 \u201cI wanted a show that would focus on Wabash seniors with interesting stories,\u201d Young said. \u201cI plan on interviewing a senior from each fraternity and three independent seniors.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The episodes will be a ten-part series, with an episode airing every week.\u00a0 Currently, the videos may be viewed on the Wabash YouTube channel, but soon they may have their own link on the Wabash website.\u00a0 Make sure to watch the episodes to learn more about the stories and talent held by members of the class of 2013 and host Devan Young.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;re always excited and please to honor student work.
