He realized pretty quick after his arrival he still had a lot to learn.<\/p>\n<p>Coldiron excelled at Wabash and has continued to succeed in his professional life ever since.<\/p>\n<p>The former Phi Delta Theta Bio major led two Wabash visitors through his office and allowed us to observe two surgical procedures during a May 25 visit.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.wabash.edu\/fyi\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2012\/05\/Coldiron350.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-1406\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.wabash.edu\/fyi\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2012\/05\/Coldiron350.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"267\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.wabash.edu\/fyi\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2012\/05\/Coldiron350.jpg 350w, https:\/\/blog.wabash.edu\/fyi\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2012\/05\/Coldiron350-300x228.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 350px) 100vw, 350px\" \/><\/a>Coldiron left Wabash for the University of Kentucky medical school and has succeeded at a number of levels as a doctor and career professional. One of this biggest achievements was April election as the President of the National Academy of Dermatology.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt means I have a voice,\u201d he said with a laugh during a video interview session. He stressed the importance of being a part of professional associations whether its doctors, lawyers, or any professional. He is an active participant in Cincinnati\u2019s professional health fields and a big Wabash booster.<\/p>\n<p>His interests range from politics, to health care laws, to enjoying time with his family.<\/p>\n<p>Adam Bowen and I spent an hour in the doctor\u2019s office Friday morning for a video interview which will be on the website soon.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.wabash.edu\/fyi\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2012\/05\/ColdironMug.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-1407\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.wabash.edu\/fyi\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2012\/05\/ColdironMug.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"90\" height=\"124\" \/><\/a>Coldiron is a great example of how Wabash won\u2019t simply prepare you to get a good score on the MCAT and get ready for medical school \u2013 or any other profession, but also prepare you to be involved and become a leader in your field.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Howard Hewitt &#8211; CINCINNATI, Ohio \u2013 Dr. Brett Coldiron &#8217;78 arrived at Wabash College in the fall of 1973 as an accomplished student and athlete.
